According to the artist, Crimea is one of the points of the Earth closest to Cosmos, as the center of connections and commonality of all things. Filov’s goal is to tune in to the energy of these bonds, transform it through himself; actively intervene in the chain of cosmic laws in an attempt to put their own, albeit modest, contribution to the scales of creation, unification, goodness, by making paintings that work in this direction. For him, a picture is a talisman, an amulet, an instrument of a spell. Thinking of how to help the film find its audience, he became one of the founders of the Crimean Partnership of Contemporary Art (1987). Another art critic and writer. Lives in Crimea.
