A vibrant, dynamic, and emotionally charged work by contemporary Ukrainian artist Sergio Kovalov. Praia de Golfo was created specifically for the international exhibition Art Dubai 2020, which invited only two Ukrainian artists to participate. Due to the pandemic, the exhibition was canceled, but this work became a symbol of the era—energy frozen for a moment before a new explosion of life.
The massive, expressive brushstrokes of oil paint, the expressive texture, and the harmonious combination of turquoise and golden tones create a sense of movement, a warm breeze, and sunny space. The composition, with its elements of architectural logic, is a distinctive feature of the artist's signature style, which combines painting with architectural thinking.
Sergio Kovalov is a Ukrainian artist and architect whose works are represented in private collections in the United States, the Czech Republic, and Brazil, as well as in the collections of prominent architects Oscar Niemeyer and Jorge Mario Jauregui. His paintings combine expression, spaciousness, and a profound philosophy of freedom.
